Hi guys, I have been having constant knock sensor codes come up. Anything I can test out to see if they might be going bad? I do not know if they are original or not, but I am assuming they are.
I have been getting this code on different tanks of gas from different places. Car feels like it pulls crazy timing and I have no torque at all.
are you running LT's?? what about cats?? if the timing is off then the computer is going to pull timing as well. so i would imagine that would be the reason for you torque loss/sluggish throttle response. get the car on a computer and see where its pulling from. you may to desensitize the sensors a little bit.
do you have a lap top or a tune shop close by?? if so i would go that route and try to clear up the timing. see where the timing is being pulled from and then adjust accordingly.
I have a laptop but dont have any cable/software for that... no tune shop within driving distance for me that im aware of anyway.
When it feels sluggish, its all over the rpm band, most notably though is down low in the rpm range and picks up a bit the higher it gets. It feels like what happens when traction control decides it wants to cut the fun.
again that feeling is not constant or predictable.
well you'll need the software in order to fix the problem. the safest way is on the dyno since you don't have to keep looking over at the readings. i would assume its probably a timing issue at WOT. while its not going to hurt driving it like that, it is a pain in the neck to deal with. i guess my opinion would be to either slightly reduce the sensitivity of the sensor and or get the software.
