Adjusting is quite easy. Back slowly down the driveway and pull on the E-brake to stop the car. Do this several times and it will adjust up where it should lock tight in 4-7 clicks.
No, it doesn't work. You must actually tighten the star behind the rotors. I have instructions if you want to send me your email address and I'll send it to you. I tightened mine the right way about 5 months ago and I can't believe I finally have an e-brake that WORKS! I can actually try to drive with it on, and it holds me! Rolling backwards doesn't work, trust me, I tried it before going through the pain of tightening everything....

When I got my car the e-brake hardly worked. I adjusted the shoes out on one side. E-brake now works great. So if your lazy like me, you probably only have to go through the hastle once.
I just spent many painful hours in my rear brakes,,,,,,,,,,there is NO SLOT in the backing plate for an adjusting tool..........you would have to pull the rotor which can be a huge PITA if it sticks on the Emerg Brake shoes, as mine did
Then getting the Emerg brake shoe retainer spring back together is yet another huge PAIN
Do some searches for what works.........there is good info in previous posts
I agree. Did the same thing on mine after years of it not working and even a trip to the dealer to have them fix it, which did nothing. This is old-school brakes and if adjusted the same way as old-school, then it works just fine. No more e-brake problems for me since.
