You've just got to love the CD-2 Detailer. It's the easiest way to make everything shine - plastic, metal, rubber, aluminum.

I use 50/50 simple green/water and spray everything except the battery and alternator... I cover the alternator. I have my knock sensors sealed so no worry there.
I let the 50/50 sit for about 5 minutes max Then I use soap/water and a sponge to wash everything I can get my hands on. All the electrical connections are weather-seal so they're ok.
Lastly I rinse it all off w/ the hose, then I start the car to let it dry. After that I follow up w/ Adam's VRT.
Here's the engine bay before leaving for Cruise-In this past year.
