I just bought the Zaino Total Protection Show Car Kit. Started reading the directions. The first step mentions I need to apply Z1 which is a polish lock. However, the kit never came with any Z1. I could not find it on their website either.
The kit included Z2, Z5, Z6, and Z7 along with the clay bar, Z18. Do I need the Z1?
Also I'm looking at the ultimate protection kit now and kicking myself. I think I should have gotten it. Does anybody have experience with the Z9 and Z10 leather conditioners? I could use a good leather conditioner. Just using the Armoral leather conditioner for now but I don't think it's very good.

Wow! That's a big bunch of Zs you have there. I live in Zainoland and have to admit I don't know much about the full line of products. I've used a couple and liked them but I would suggest you to go to the Zaino.com website to get the real deal.
Z1 is fo rNON Clearcoated cars. Yu do not need it.
If you've never Zainoed the car before, wash it with a very strong solution of water and Dawn dish wash soap to remove any and all previous wax from the finish.
Then if needed, clay the car.
Then wash again.
Then start to Zaino with Z2.
After you apply Z2, let haze up then buff off.
Then use the Z6
Do the Z2 and Z6 steps over a few times (once per day)
You can continually do this to make the shine deeper each time.
* You can use Z5 to help cover up some small swirls. Just use Z5 occassionally in place of the Z2..
It works...

No you don't need the Z1. You should have gotten the ZFX.
The ZFX is good for the first application, and also if you plan on doing multiple coats in a 24 hr period. No more than three though.
The Z goes a LONG way. Use sparingly.
The key to a good finish is ALL in the prep.
If your car needs to be clayed, go ahead and do it. I would recommend a polish after the clay, but not everyone agrees with that.
A PC 7424 is a great tool.
I would Z5P after a polish, three coats, then followed by Z2P.
A LIGHT Z6 in between coats, end with ZCS topped off with Z8 and you will be impressed.
People complain about all the steps, but all the work is in the prep. The application and removal of Z5/Z2 is easy.
