Well I swapped my T1 links for the metal OE links and the clacking noise went away for about a month and now it is back . Anything else I can do to shut these things up? Sounds like something is loose everythime I go over a bump or rough road or cruise through a parking lot, clunks and pops. Loud enough people turn around and look at my car and tell me I should get it looked at or ask me whats wrong with my car.
Not sure how to fix it other then new end links (again) I had the exact thing happen with the end links that came with my Hotchkiss sways and when I switched them out with GM Metal ones it went away and hasnt come back. My mechanic and I looked over the endlinks and couldnt figure out why they were doing it.
I had the same problem with the T1 bars. The front clamps kept coming loose. After tightening them three time they seem to be holding. I guess I should have used Locktite.
If you are available, Keith and I are fixing his T1 end links tomorrow at his house in Chatsworth. If you are available, let us know and join us!

Chris you are welcomed to come by if you are available. I live 3 minutes from LAPD. In any event I will let you know how Dick's latest trick to quiet these things down works out. He loves it so far.
That would be awesome. I am actually going on the SCMR tomorrow and not sure when that is over. What time are you guys going to be doing this? I guess I'll check the forum when I get back tomorrow from the SCMR. That would be great to hook up with you guys. Hope we can hook up.
Just got home from SCMR. I'm beat. Let me know what you guys come up with. i'm off tomorrow so I can try whatever you guys come up with.
DixZ will post a little later but let me tell you the difference in amazing. I noticed how quiet the suspension was as soon as I backed out of my driveway. It is cheap and easy (two of my favs). It will only take about 30 to 45 minutes to finish as well.
I found this "mod" one day when I had an hour to kill. I wanted to try something, anything, to lessen the irritating noise the T1 sway bars and heim joint end links produce.
I stopped at Lowes and just started wandering the aisles. After about 15 minutes I found something that I thought would be worth a try. They have a section that has an assortment of bulk tubing. I found some 5/8" I.D. clear tubing about a 1/16" thick. I bought a foot for $.39. If you are really careful you can do two cars with a foot.
Take the end links off, remove the spacers (4 per end link), insert the spacers in the tubing and trim to length. The two of us did Keith's car in about 45 minutes, including the test drive!
One tip I have, is when you are under the front end, check the tightness of the sway bar insulator brackets. They seem to need re-torquing a couple of times before they stay tight.
When I bought the T1 bars I was warned that they were noisy! I thought I would just "Man UP" and get used to it. I wasn't sure how the wife would take it. After initially installing the T1 bars, the wife made some comments about the noise, but quit shortly after and said nothing. I on the other hand got very irritated with the noise, and couldn't take it any longer. I have been very happy with this change for about a month on my car, but to experience Keith's joy today in the change in his car was PRICELESS!
If this write up helps even one other person, I will be very rewarded!

I owe you again BIG TIME for the suggestion and help today. Its a great thing to have this forum and great friends.
So the tubing only goes on the spacers? Wish I had gone over there today to see how it is done. Do you have any pics? I have tomorrow off and want to try this. I also have the stock T1 links off the car right now so it will make it easy to do this mod since there off the car already.
One more question. There are 4 spacers per link? I only see 2 per link. Got the T1 link, spacer for each bolt and washer and nut. Am I missing something?
Mine came with two spacers per bolt. one about 1/8" and one about 3/16".
It is not a big deal, we can get together next weekend.
BTW, are you going to the Upland car show on 10/13?
My spacer is about 1/4" in length. One per bolt. Yeah if your not busy next weekend. Unfortunately I work Saturday but I could get together Sunday if your available. I rather have it done by someone who knows how to do it and make it work. Thanks for all your help. Not sure about the show yet.
