Driving down Matt Road in Cumming, Georgia a few days ago looking for retirement property. I come around this curve and there, under a big tree, sits a silver vert with big "FOR SALE" written on the windshield with white shoe polish like an old Civic at one of those "Buy here, pay here" used car lots.
I mean, I know there are reasons people would sell their babies, but show a little class. Have a little respect for a great car. Put it under cover, keep the tree crap off it, don't write cheap crap on the windshield.
My wife and I thought it looked so sad I almost had her talked into adopting it and taking it where it would have a good home.

Man, you didn't close the deal with the wife???????? Based on what you're saying, you probably could have negotiated a really good deal.
Although the c5s are NICE cars...... Thats what they are, cars. Some people drive the heck out of them and some keep them covered in garages all thier lives. Ten years from now, they will be worth what an older c4 is worth and will not be desiriable. For now I enjoy mine and will keep it til the c6s come down in price.

There is a difference between Corvette ENTHUSIASTS, and Corvette Drivers.
We are Enthusiasts...we love our cars. We keep 'em cleaner than new, we spend huge amounts of money to make them "ours", we baby them.
The drivers just drive them. They're a car. They put gas in the tank, change the oil, and sometimes they run them through the car wash. They sell them when they are tired of them, and get something else.
Sad, but true. I'm proud to be part of a community that not only respects the car, but its heritage. To us, they are much, much more than just a car.
Went to a small local car show this weekend. The only 'Vette entered was a '88 vert. It was filthy! Even the hood was open, and the engine was covered with grease! Made me wanna bitch slap the owner! The way I look at it, if you can't at least clean your car, leave it at home!
