I just got the code off the DIC as the check engine light came on and it is the code for the 1-4 Shift control circut. I have a GAGS on the car and am wondering if this could be the problem. I got under the car today to make sure it is secure and that it hadn't got up against the exhaust and none of this has happened. Has anyone ever had this problem with one? Any help appreciated.
I didn't think disconnecting the CAGS would make the CEL come on with any of the 6-speed stick equipped cars. It will set a code but not come on. You can just unplug the thing and tie it off somewhere.
Our Corvettes of Houston CAGS eliminator lasted about 1000 miles then I got the 1-4 shift error on the DIC. My resistor was charred beyond recognition.
I replaced it with a 2.2K, 2 watt resistor that I dug up at work. No problem since.
