try the insulation kit that crazy cowboy sells in C5 parts. if your time is worth anything, having a pre-cut kit is priceless. I think the material he uses is superior to anything you can buy at the Depot. it's super-light weight, and made a huge difference in my 03Z with Borla's as far as general noise and the droning you get on the highway.
I did mine over a lazy week end, was super careful of everything, and it came out great.
The stuff in Home Depot was quite sticky and looked like it was going to be a mess

$30 or so for 40 sq feet. Quite easy to install and made a difference. Probably not as good as the precut stuff, but then again, cost me maybe $50 or so. LowE and spray glue.
If I had to do it again, would use the same stuff, but maybe use a bit more up front. Ran out of insulation...should have bought more. 80sq feet is probably good for the whole interior. Dont have to cover every inch of the car, just cover most of it.
