Default Hatchback lid "handle"

I just got a flyer from Ecklers, and they're advertising a handle that goes inside the hatch so you can close the hatch without having to touch the outside.

Sounds like a good idea, and the blurb in the flyer says, "mounts with stock hardware". I don't quite see where it mounts. Anyone else try one? Comments?

Here is the installation document from Ecklers.....

http://www.ecklers.com/assets/pdf/50649.pdf?

Looks pretty cool, but unless you have a door open or a window down, you are still gonna have to slam the hatch or push down from the outside to finish latching.....but if you take that into consideration, i guess it does give you a way to close the hatch without touching the outside.....

ps....just remember to remove your hand from the latch before the hatch closes all the way....

atilla....

I agree - if your car is anything like mine, the hatch will not close completely if all the windows are up and the doors are closed - the inside pressure keeps it from fully latching. So I don't see how this will keep you from having to touch the outside to fully close the hatch.

Yea, but if you have the Window Valet, you can close the hatch, set the alarm, and roll up the windows afterwards!

Just use your palm on the exterior closing device to keep the fingerprints off (rear emblem).

I've always just stuck my finger in the latch hole and given it a yank. Keep in mind that I don't have "Ball Park Franks" for fingers...

Press down with the heel of the hand on the outside emblem. Use white cotton gloves if you're really fussy.
