Lately my Z has been freaking out on me. For example just driving normally, all the controls on the driver's side door will not work. (Windows, mirrors, etc) When this happen the traction control light comes on, ABS light, air bag light, and check gages light also comes on. On the cluster it reads, service car soon, reduce engine power, service traction control system. The radio also cuts out and the AC is also out.
If I shut the car down and restart it a couple times, it will go away and everything will work just fine. The car drives fine and sounds fine. What could be the problem. This has happened a 5 times in the last 3 days.
I had a similar issue when my original battery went south, check for a loose battery cable or ground. A couple of days after this happened to me my battery just died completely and wouldnt take a charge at all.
I'll check the battery first. Walmart will check it for free with a state of the art battery checker, if thats not it, You can also check for strip wires in the wiring boot of the passenger side door. Strip wires are a known cause for the symptoms your describing.
This has happened to countless members here with the culprit being a stripped wire caused by the everyday normal opening and closing of the doors. Hope this helps

This is exactly what's happening to me the past 5 times I driven the Z06---the door module stops working then "ding ding ding" all the same lights come on plus the temp gauge reads full red and the fuel reads empty. First time I was relieved to get home without any stalling or breakdown. Then all seemed fine after restarting but started the same bs all over again on the next drive. I got code P1626 Theft Deterrent System Fuel Enable Circuit along with many other H codes. I did the search here and I'm going to try a few suggestions.

same here, last year we got charged $535 to fix the wireing harness inside the door. Here's what we never got to understand. the vette wasnt capelbe of going past 75 mph. I guess its due to the electircle system to help prevent a short circurt or worse damge. Don't take it to the dealer like we did and pay that price lol if you could do it your self or like the other members said to check your battery
When your dash starts to act up, Go on the passenger side with the door open and grab the rubber boot with your hand and move it around and see what happens. To see if there are any stripped wires, just pull the boot back from where it goes into the door and very carefully look at the wires. There is a thread here that explains it with pics. I'm going to look for it and post it.
