Question about service

I don't have my service manual and I was wondering when to change the serpentine belts. When does GM recommend it? And when do the vette GODS recommend it?

Well it depends.

I prefer about 75K even if it looks good, and sooner if cracking starts to develop.

According to your profile you own an '02? If are concerned about it, change them both, you'll sleep better at night. You are going on 6 years since it was created at Bowling Green. Are you the original owner? If you are missing your owner's manual then I suppose you are not. You might not have any idea if the belts have been changed yet. Ya' know I think I am going to change the ones on my '01 when I get home..........I am the second owner and I have my owner's manual....I am changing to the new Gatorback that I have heard so much about. Do both the serpentine belt and the A/C belt as well.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who responded. I took your advise and since I am the second or third owner, I bought the Goodyear Gatorbacks. I bought both belts at Autozone for about $40. I think that $40 for peace of mind is worth it. Now I just need to have time to install them. Thanks again.
