Very Stupid Question
In manual 6 speed, how do you shift into fifth gear if fifth is the same as reverse?

5th is not the same as reverse.......reverse is all the way over....a tad bit up and over again then up into reverese.....

Has anyone shifted into reverse on accident? The reason why i ask is because I have a short shifter and am afraid to put it into 5th because reverse is so close.

You can't, it is locked out. I slam that shifter into 5th.

I'd have to go look at the numbers again but I believe it is 3mph or less, and it will open the solenoid and allowing shifting into reverse.

I have a Hurst short throw shifter on mine and never have hit R when going into 5th, with R being locked out it is a non issue

It is, and it takes some serious skill to win a race that way. On the dash you'll find a gauge that has a F and E. E is for excitement. Ain't nothing like driving on excitement.
