Default Low Oil Level

Could be stupid question of the day.. My car has this and I have checked the oil about 10 times now and it looks to be at a "normal" level. does not appear low, does not appear over full.

Is there something that needs to be reset on it somewhere or is this something I have to have "reset"?

Maybe I am clueless on how to check oil level? Guess it's time to "turn in my man card!"

Oil level really does look OK..

Thanks,

Pull the dipstick. If the oil level is on the full mark, then you are ok. Not sure what you are talking about in reference to resetting something??????

That happened to me a couple of time, rebooting the car usually makes it go away, otherwise you may need a new Oil Level sending unit.

Thanks for the info!

I'll give it a couple of days and keep an eye on the level. Seems to be the level is fine.

If driving over the next few days and it stays on, I'll check into the oil sending unit.

He means the DIC shows low oil and the dipstick shows full...resetting means clearing codes?

Yello95 - Correct Exactly what I was thinking.. on a Re-read this morning - What I said did not make much sense to be eithier!

Ride in this morning, started car - no Low Oil Level message, did not come on during the 25.7 (s)miles ride in to work. So.. Good to go!

Been on CF for a while now (long before owning and a few months after purchase) and it still amazes me how quickly a post is responded to. I wish I WORKED with folks that knew as much / cared as much about their job as the folks here know/care about their cars! Knowledge of the folks here ROCKS!

Thanks,
