Default New Interior Mods Coming!

Just placed an order from Brian (aka c5kidd) for a double din bezel. I will be putting in the new kenwood dnx-7100 dvd/nav. I am also going to be doing the LED mod in blue for the HVAC, doors and switches.

If all goes well, install should be done this weekend. Just waiting on the bezel to come in. Will post pics when done. I'm stoked!

Lights are in. Paul and I took a lot of pictures for extra clarification, although this was documented well by spdkilz.

Still waiting on the bezel. Will post pics when it comes in (Tuesday)

It is such a low cost mod (about 35 bucks). It makes a huge difference for the look of your interior, and looks very clean if done right.

The biggest risk was the HVAC. But with a little soldering experience should be easy. Mine was a pain because I have already unsoldered all of the bulbs to put brighter ones in. I later decided to do LED, so the board took a hit. If a trace starts to pull up it can easily be repaired by soldering a small wire to a known-good connection elsewhere.

You're doing the exact same mods I'm tackling this month as well. Double Din C5Kidd and blue LEDs

to see the turnout on your blue LED. I wonder if they wash out the nightvision when driving at night?

So you're the reason it took Brian so long to finish!!

Night vision is fine. My kenwood dvd/nav puts out much more light than the leds. Neither are bothersome. Good luck on your install!

Be warned. I like the guy, but it took me 4 weeks to get mine (still waiting, but has shipped)
He told me 2 weeks. I didn't even send a core, got mine built from a new one.

Be patient with him as it seems he is very busy. All i can say is it better be worth the wait.

How much does he charge for the double bezel thingy? And how much is the Kenwood? I'm a new C5 owner and HATE the factory bose system. It's awful. Thanks in advance. I also can't wait to see pics.

Have fun doing your blue leds. I did it to my car 2 years ago, and still love it. It took me a while to find the right resistors to match all the lights inside the car. The directions I found online were not accurate and the resistors were way off (too bright on the ac and radio, also they did not match each other). I recommend going to radio shack and getting the big mix pack so you can figure out which resistors to use.
I can't wait for you to post some pictures of your set up. Are you going to upgrade your bose speakers also?

The kenwood runs about 1500 bucks, but is ABSOLUTELY worth it. DNX-7100. Don't even shop for another brand

Brian charges 425 plus a core, but is well worth it. Some people are doing the mod themselves, but he has a lot more experience.
