I get this weird scraping noise when I turn my steering wheel. Sounds like plastic or something!!! Anyone else ever have this problem? I asked the dealer and they said it sounds like an airbag coil, I dont understand...
well think about what you typed. You get the noise when you turn your steering wheel, by your picture it looks like you have aftermarket wheels and you've lowered your car. I'd bet the fronts are rubbing either the wheel wells or the metal clip that holds your brake lines in place when you turn the wheel too far. Take off a front wheel and have a look!
the noise is actually coming from inside the steering wheel itself. When i turn it back and forth you can hear a plastic scraping noise... It's nothin major, but really annoying!
Thanks for the link man! I dont even want to drive with the radio off, its so annoying. Especially when ur already having a bad and you jump in the vette, SKRRRRREEEEK ugh wha a noise.
I dont see how greasing that bearing would help when the sound seems to be coming right inside the wheel/column itself.
The dealer couldn't figure out the problem, or was just too darn lazy. I went out there and pulled the plastic surrounding off and found a plastic sticker scraping on the inside! Thankgod that noise is gone, it was driving me nuts!!!
