Default 2000....Engine ID location

I have a '00 convertible and am trying to confirm it has the correct engine in the car. The pad, just in front ot the head on the pass side of the car, is blank....no numbers at all.

Am I looking in the right place???.....Is there another place where the engine ID number appears??? And lastly, "Any Idea why my block pad would not have a number stamped on the machined surface just in front of the head?"....Thanks in advance.

If you are looking on the passenger side, my doesn't either. Not sure where the engine ID number is located.

Thanks for the reply.....does anyone else have a suggestion as to where the ID is located. Everything about the engine says it is correctly installed ( wire harness locations, hose routings, accessories ext.); but, I cannot find the number.
