Default PCV Valve

Guys,

Ordered a PCV valve...the one I received was different than the OEM(part# 948) one I removed from the vehicle.

OEM one had a plug inside you could hear rattle around and the new one didn't. Was told the new one was to reduce oil consumtion.

Anyone else experience this.

I have a 2000 Coupe.

Thanks!

I don't know what the old PCV valve Part# was, but this new (not so really) PCV with no valve (just a restricted orifice about 3/32") was generated to reduce oil consumption. The part number on the replacement valve you just received should be 12572717. Everyone could probably benefit from this valve. I know there is less accumulation in my catch can because of it.

Does that part number that Ed provided also cover a 1998?

My Parts Manual program won't work for me, or I'd research the number's application. This looks like a job for Gene Culleyat GMPARTSHOUSE.COM I would think as a guess it would cover all LSx motors, but we better let Gene do the confirmation.
