I use an iPod2Car kit I got at Best Buy. Plug it into the wiring harness that used to go into my 12 disc changer, flipped a few dipswitches on the unit, and voila, iPod through my Bose. I think they have a newer version of the kit out now for $99.
I got the iSimple from Best Buy for $99 and it works great. You need a 12 disc changer connection though for it to work. It's very simple to install. I don't know what you need if you don't have a changer already. You might just need the cable but you might need a deck that accepts the changer. Others here would know. Or you could check with Best Buy and ask.
The system makes it so you can select RW and FF options along with selecting the next song from your oem head unit. I have had it for a bit over a month now and love it.
