Default Side molding removal?

I notice that most Corvettes come with the side moldings, not really a problem, but prefer the look without them. Has anyone removed them, and if so, what process is it? I mean just how difficult is it?

Heat with heat gun. (hair dryer not hot enough)
Use dental floss or fishing line.

Search BSM removal and you can read for hours. But they look better with them. Unless you like them better without them, then that looks better.

So then, they are not bolted or screwed to the fenders or doors?

Nope, stuck on. Clean up the area good when you are done and you will be good to go.

That was actually the first thing I changed when I bought my car. I bought my car new but I had to buy from Dealer stock in order to get the 0% interest and I could not find one anywhere locally that didn't have them. They are easy to remove with a hair dryer and fishing line. One tip, when removing go slow, I went to fast with the fishing line and damaged the BSM. Alot of people on this forum like them and you can sell them if you don't damage them upon removal.

Hair dryer and fishing line..I heated parts of the molding at a time, then sawed thru the glue behind it with fishing line(used gloves on my hands)..I moved very slow so I wouldn't damage the door..After it was off used WD40 to remove the excess glue on the door..Wash and Zaino and you'd never notice it was there!!

My car came with no BSMs, I actually like how it "cuts" the door. I put a set on, then I took them back off.

The C6 has a better body line in the door.

I can't make up my mind if I like them on or off

Nope, sorry but I should have, no need to make more threads than necessary. A moderator can delete this thread if need be, but I do appreciate everyones help on this, didn't think it was that simple.

Not a criticism, just trying to help. More has been written about this than probably anything else on the forum. You can find pros and cons and methods and even at least one case where a forum member pulled on his BSM and peeled off a chunk of paint. When you get a Vette, if it has BSM's, just read all about removal before you start. Most report no bad after effects of removing them. ( except, of course, they lose some of their laminar downflow at high speeds)

I think which floor mats to get has been talked about more on here.
