Default Looking for info on winter storage

We plan to store our 2004 Vette from mid November to early March. Oil change, wash, wax, clean interior ect. Plan to have it covered in our attached garage. With all the electronics drawing current was thinking about a drip battery charger . Anyone have opinion, as to best charger to use , and any other ideas.

Mouse traps near each wheel? Maybe bait also in the corners of the garage.

Here is another vote for Battery Tender by Deltran. I have two motorcycles, the vette, and the lawn mower battery all using them with good results.

I put mine in a Car Capsule about the end of October first part of November depending on the weather. Take out the battery. No mice in a car capsule. Put the battery in the house. Charge it up in April when I get it back out.

I use this:

Plus I put mothballs in the toes of tied-off old pantyhose and place them near wiring in the engine bay... plus lay about 10 Bounce dryer sheets over the bay itself...plus stuff the exhaust with steel wool... plus put a few bars of Irish Spring soap on the interior along with more Bounce dryer sheets... plus drive up on that pink insulation stuff.

P.S. Don't use black pantyhose for the mothballs... hard to find. If you do, jot down a map of where they are. I know I put 5 in there last year but could only find 4.

Man, you guys are fruitcakes haha! Why go through such a hassle? Go out in the garage once a week and start it up (to charge the battery) and on a half decent day cruise around the block and stick it back in the garage (to keep from getting flat spots in tires). You guys are going way too far. Putting a car in a bubble?? You got some screws loose bro! Funny thing is, if you got into an accident with this car you'd just go out and buy a different one. Take care of your vette i understand, but crap guys... cmon!

I guess you never seen the roads around here in the winter or my drive way or the way everything sweats at certain times. The water would just run off the Vette if it was not in the bubble. It happens to my truck all the time.

Sta-Bil in gas tank (best to add when tank is almost empty and you are filling it up for storage), get a Battery Tender Plus for the battery, put carpet squares under each tire and add a few pounds to the air pressure, and maybe put some mothballs on a plate under the hood and in the interior.

Wife says to put some nice pieces of flannel on seats plus a few snacks for mice.

Worst thing you can do for any car is to start it an run for a few minutes every week...
It is ESCPECIALLY bad to do it the winter.

Cold start creates the most engine wear.
shutting it off before the whole system is hot guarantees condensation...
Water + engine/exhaust parts = rust....

You can get a float charger from Walmart, made by Schumaker or something like that. Half the price of Battery Tender and just as good. I've been using two of them for a few years now.
