Not me, but, if you let the car warm up longer, you should be fine.

Don't worry about it. Once you feel the 25+ HP boost, you won't care..

keeps the coolant from heating up your throttle body:

1) Unnecessarily

2) Why would you want warm air going into your intake?

You've read through the mid america or ecklers catalog too many times.

It provides no gains. Send it back and get something that will really make a difference.

Got a feeling that you're gonna do it anyway, so good luck.

No need to pay for a kit when all you need is a barbed brass coupler and two hose clamps. $2.00 worth of parts from Hope Depot.

There was a thread I was reading somewhere about the effect of the TB on the incoming air temp, and YES it did have an effect. I'll see if I can't dig it up.

Vette mags and parts vendors hawk this product because they like to take advantage of owners who don't take the time to do a little research on these on engines. If you have modded your engine to the point where you are producing over 500 HP to the crank (Major/extensive mods) then performing this "mod" might be worth it. If this is your DD and you drive in multiple seasons, you will hurt your engine's cold start characteristics. For the possible 1 HP you would gain (maybe) by doing this is just not worth it.

Let the guy spend his money. He can't take it with him. As confusius once say: Never seen a hearse with a luggage rack.

Well...

I went through the trouble of buying and installing a CAI...then I found out that there is HOT engine coolant heating the TB and thus the air.

So just thought it was counterproductive to have this heating my cool air.

I have been doing that mod to most of my car's, most of them were turbo....so it made more sense. I just wanted to see what they consider a "Kit".

I don't think that was confusius, I think it was Don Henley.

Most of the "kits" out there are about $2.00 worth of parts (two hose clamps and a barbed brass coupling) and a $18 corvette tax added to it.

Well...I did this today...

Before the install, I took some base Air Intake Temp readings from my handheld tuner while running and while idle. After the install did the same. Avg about 13 degrees cooler after the install. Perhaps, more extensive testing would yield slightly better results, but time was tight today!

So it def did do something...not earth shattering but it was a fun little Sun afternoon project. And let's face it...an afternoon messing with your Vette is better than not!!!

Yeah, denser (cooler) air = more HP. Gotta help some. I think it's totally unnecessary where I live plus I have a blower so it was gone a long time ago.

Came across this CF post on another Vette fourm:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1007398

GM ran the coolant line through the TB for a reason.
