Hey Guys...
Question for you. I sold my previous Vette hardtop which had long tube ceramic headers, X pipe, and the Corsa Pace Car Pro tip exhaust. Personally I though this was a little too loud for me (mainly idle and start up).
My new Vette will be the same year (2004), but a convertible. I only plan on adding a X-pipe and a Corsa Exhaust (Pace Car, possibly touring) on it. Will this be toned down quite a bit without the addition of the headers?
Guess you would have added headers onto a C5 that already had the X-pipe and Pace Car to know the difference. Or heard them side by side.

Any thoughts on this?!
Thanks!
i had the pace car exhaust before the headers and it was still pretty loud. i would say it became 25% louder with lt headers. if you want to tone it down go with the touring.

had the Corsa Indy's before going with headers & hi flow cats. I would say when I installed the headers they became 25 - 33% louder at idle. BUT at WOT they are 80% louder with the headers
If you go with the corsa tour and x pipe it will not be much different than stock
Really?!? I figured it would be a little louder than stock
If that's the case, I'll probably just go with the Pace Car Pro again with X-pipe.
The neighbors will just have to get used to hearing it start up at 6AM
I personally don't think the Pace Cars and an X-pipe are loud at all. That's what I have on now. Corsas Pace Cars are darned quiet from inside the car, unless you get on them heavy. Even then, they're not very loud, but at least you know you have an exhaust mod.
Now, outside and behind the car, you can hear the startup that's for sure, but then once it's idling it's not loud. Now, standing behind the car when it accelerates hard, that's another story!
FWIW, I previously had GHL Bullets, slightly louder, but had some drone, so I swapped to the Corsas.
Before I added the LT headers, the Corsa Pace cars were pretty mellow. Only at WOT did they get anything close to loud. After the headers and cam - these suckers are really loud.....and I like it
I have the Corsa Touring with a Bassani X pipe and my wife didnt even notice. That setup is not loud at all, it gets alittle loud when you get on it. I am planning Kooks headers so that is why i went with the touring. The car does sound nice and it is louder than stock.
I drove someone's vette with pace cars, xpipe and headers, and Yes, it was a bit too loud for me. I think without the headers, it would be fine, but from what I know, the headers are what really gives you better return on your investment for more HP. I'm planning on getting the pace cars, and sticking to stock for the rest of the exhaust though.
