Absolutely not...the outdoor Stormproof that I previously purchased was a little bit heavier than what I was looking for...I'm currently leaning towards the Stretch Satin (it appears to be really soft & easy on the paint finish).

Yes, the car should be clean before any cover is put on it...if there is any dirt on it, it's a sure fire way to acquire some scratches in the clear coat (from the material rubbing the dirt into the paint finish).
If it's dirty...best to leave it uncovered until the next wash / detail.
