Well since I got into cars at 15, the Corvette has been my dream car. Sure there are faster cars out there and cars with more "presence" appeal, but for some reason the Corvette just does it for me. I'm sure everyone else here knows what I mean . Anywho, one of my goals in life is to own a Corvette, and I think I may accomplish that this week. There is a local import dealership that has a black on black auto coupe in my price range, and I was recently approved for the loan thru my credit union, and thankfully the car has not sold yet. All I am waiting on is my paycheck to go thru and the loan can be finalized along with my down payment. So Friday is the keystone day for. I am going to have the buyers order faxed to the credit union today so things can get started and hopefully the deal will be done by Friday or Saturday.
The car is in decent shape, I just have some issues with the interior, as Chevy kinda skimped out on that department of the Vette, but I wanted to swap interior interior to a two tone black and red. But without getting ahead of myself, everyone wish me luck with the deal !
Good luck on your purchase, and hope you don't get screwed too bad by the dealer. By "screwed" I mean paying more than you would have from a private party.
Well I'm a bit upset, but I feel optimistic at the same time. I was not able to buy the car. Long story short, it was one of those, "we can get it done if..." stories, but even with the if, it still couldn't get done.
However I know for sure that I can have one by my birthday, but after being here, the patience wears very thin. But by then I will have a much greater down payment and a greater selection to choose from. Also looking to get a better interest rate with my CU cause I think mine was a little high even though my credit score a shot. But I will be working multiple avenues until then to make the best deal possible.
Don't give up on your dream. I started the same as you dreaming of Corvette ownership but with persistence, I finally arrived even though it took another "lifetime" once I started the dream.
I'm not worried about it guys. Like I said, I am just really excited, because I know I can get one, just not as soon as I want. I hate waiting LOL. But yeah next year I will be able to trade my Acura, or who knows I may just keep it and have the Vette as a toy, even though I know plenty of people use there's as DDs. The search will continue and yes a down payment will be no issue by that time.
If you are living paycheck to paycheck, obviously a Vette is too much money for you. Be happy they didn't approve you. If I were you, I'd look at 99+ Mustang GTs and save money for a while. Trust me.

Weird. I traded in my Acura for a C5 last month. My C5 is my daily driver.

Sorry it didn't work out, but at some point in the future you will most likely look back and think how lucky you were that the deal didn't go thru. Most of the time it's because you were really anxious and just wanted to buy a car. Maybe it wasn't the best car for you.
Hang in there. There is a better car out there for you!
