A friend has a 2000 and the Hud does not work at all. Where should he start looking? Car sat for about 4 months and when he went to use the car again the Hud was out. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried the obvious? HUD position on the windshield and brightness? The HUD is powered from the Instrument Cluster. Has it been removed lately? There is a single connector from the HUD to the cluster.

Yes...Tried all the obvious. No, hasn't been removed and the connector has been checked. Any other ideas?

I don't know how you managed to get to that connector as its on the top of the cluster and without taking the dash pad off, its got to be real hard to get a hand all the way up there. Anyway, if the connector is properly plugged in and the hud display isn't just real dim...then you have a failed hud. They run right close to $200 now and take about 2.5 hours to replace them yourself. I replaced mine in my '99 back in the summer. It requires removing the dash pad which isn't as hard as it might seem. You probably should PM Bill Curlee and see if he has any other thoughts that might help out before ordering a new one...just in case.
