Default Noise level C5 vs Z06
Can anyone provide a comparison of the noise level inside a C5 compared to a Z06. Probably not going to make a difference in what I select, but was interested in anyone new the difference between the two.

Not terribly louder but a nice growl with the Z exhaust.. I got rid of a C5 coupe for a Z two years ago and was happy with the sound difference (although all of the other differences were MUCH bigger)

Try it with long tubes and stingers or bullets!

C5 with long tubes, cam and Stingers. Very loud and it makes me smile all the time.

I second this for stock C5 v stock Z However an X pipe on either makes the sound much more mellow. I have also gone to long tubes, cam and heads and sounds much better than stock Z

It's easy to cut down the noise in a Z/FRC with a partition in the trunk. I have one and it helps with exhaust and rear tire noise making it a little more quiet than a coupe. Bill

on a Z06 you could put a partition in and it would cut down the noise

To me the C5 is quieter--I like the Z's Ti's--Road noise is a different story, drives me crazy, but am working on it (Purist will say it's part of having a sports car) Lots of ways to tone it down listed on the forum. Neighbors C5 is spooky quiet, until he cranks it up Long tubes and stingers ...Just drive a Z..you'll be sold
