Default Trade in

I was wondering what type of trade in value 2003 z06's are receiving. I figured someone here has traded recently. Mine is black on black and has 31,000. The only mod is LG headers which I'm sure the dealer could care less about. There are a few small rock pecks in front from being a daily driver. When I'm ready, trade in would probably be better due to the tax savings, I just don't want to take the shaft. Would it be beneficial to remove the headers, sell them, and reflash the car to stock? I'm considering an 07 z06, but I love my car and am gonna let the dealer know that I'm not giving her up for nothing. Just need to know a reasonable value. Thanks

I traded in my 01 Z06 with 55,000 miles on it in August. I got $ 18,000. With the 2008 Corvette now available, the trade-in value may be less. The dealer I traded my Z06 in at wanted the car as close to factory as possible. Took an entire day to tear out as much as possible (stereo, chrome, seats, etc.). Take off what you can before you take it to a dealer. They won't give you the $$$ you will want extra for those parts. Better to strip it and sell the parts separate.

Default '03 Z06 Trade In Value

I agree... The trade in offer will probably be around $27k to $30k.

Keep in mind that there is room in the new Z06 price for negotiation before even discussing your trade in. I purchased an 07 Z for approx $2500 below MSRP. So, get your best deal on the new Z, then propose a trade in of your 03 Z and you will see exactly what they are offering.

In some states you get sales tax credit of your trade in value towards your new car purchase. This may be significant.

I kept my 03 Z because honestly I know the car and it is worth more to me than the current market price. (Even a new V6 Accord or Camry is $30k+. )

Consider everything carefully and make an informed decision. Whether you have an 03 Z or 07 Z, you have the best!!! Enjoy!!!

Most dealers in Atlanta are listing 03 Z06s for $29-32K which means they probably will pay $25-27K. Edmunds seems to be the most accurate right now on trade in value.

The dealer is gonna give you the shaft for trade in.... they always do. If you have a carmax in your area take your car thier and get a trade in/buy value (they are usually on the higher end of what the dealer would be willing to pay), if the offer is good coupled with the tax savings ($1500-2000) depending on the offer and your tax rate then trade in, if its low put it up for sale with a competitive price and hopefully it will sell quick.

Good Luck

No different than what you would get right here on this very forum. Put your car up for sale on the sell board and see what kind of responses you will get.

People here see the one time deals for $25 with 10k miles on an 04 and expect everyone to price them the same way.
