I know some of you have very visually pleasing engine bays.....so I'm wondering.........
Has anyone blacked out their engine bay??? There's really not a lot of color showing in the stock engine bay, and it would be very easy to powdercoat the TB housing, alternator and bracket, and tensioner (or get a Katech black one). Just subdue everything you could.
Reason I ask is I've got the sleeper theme going with my car, and this would really hit it for when I'm at the track, especially if I blacked out my APS inlet pipes too.

You've lost me. Unless you're tracking your car with the hood open (or off), what difference does it make?
I think it's a cool idea. It's different and I don't think it would look bad at all. Especially if you still have your all black interior, sort of a theme.
It's good to be a little different... that's why I don't have quad pipes or red calipers
I had my alternator and bracket black powdercoated and got a black electric water pump and black katech tensioner along with chrome bolts from cajundude.

You just want your engine bay back because you are too lazy to clean it
The downfall about blacking out the engine bay is when it is time to do work on the engine. Would be very difficult to see problems that you are having such as leaks.

YES!!!!!!!! That's sick. I'm thinking that blacking out what I can and going with a hint of silver on my car is going to be about perfect.
For the person who questioned me as to the engine bay sleeper thing at the track, it's not for what you think. My car is stock quiet, and very unassuming. The it goes and traps 125. The more low key I can make it the better, and the chrome intake pipes just scream FI. If I blacked those out, it would be very easy to mistake as a twin piped air intake.

DO IT!!! I think it looks clean. Much better than the stock grey color and much easier to keep clean than chrome or polished.

it always gets allot of attention, thats usually the one thing people ignore, the alternator or they cover it with a piece of metal. powdercoating it was the best thing I did.
