Default Cam?

So, I'm thinking about getting a cam, but no very little about them. What do all the numbers mean when looking at a cam's specs...such as - 224/228 - .534/.537 w 1.7 rocker - 112 LSA? Thanks for the help!

I'm a n00b my self. But I'll try to help out. The first two numbers are the grind. Pretty much means how agressive the cam is. The Z06's cam is in the lower 200's and once you get past the 225 range it starts getting pretty agressisve. The LSA is the lobe speration angle. I'm not exactly sure what that determines but generaly they go from 111-115 on LSX cams and the higher the LSA the less cam loop you'll have.

If I'm wrong on any of this someone correct me!

Thanks for the link. It helped a lot! So, what's a new cam gonna end up costing me after I replace everything else...valve springs, etc?

224/228 is the intake and exhaust duration in degrees and the .534/.537 is the Intake and exhaust valve lift, 112 is the lobe seperation angle, a 112 would have a chopy idle and a 114 lsa would ahve a smoother idle.

I don't want to thread hijack.

RTSB--could you PM me with where you're planning on having the work done? I'm thinking about roughly the same mods.

Not really I checked on a couple of websites and some of the parts are cheaper but the cam thru comp is more than what he quoted and some other stuff I checked also.It all evens out.
