Here is what I plan
I will be picking up my first C5 next week, its a 98 with 30,2xx miles on it.
I plan to take it to the dealer and have the following done
oil changed
radiator fluid flushed
I am also considering an optima battery and a dash carpet with logo to protect that large gorgeous dash and maybe some seat covers to keep the seats maintained.
I am hoping to get about a month before it starts to snow here in central IN at which time I will put it away for the winter, and with that I am considering one of the car capsules to park it inside of.

I would check under the battery, they have a history of leaking and the main computer and wires are right underneath the battery.
Have them check the tranny fluid level and condition and for any leaks.
Check the front tires for any wear on the inside. Some are set so they wear real bad on the inside. Maybe an alignment check too.
Check for junk underneath in the radiator, sometime things collect there.
They can also check the service records so you know what has been worked on at a dealer.
When you store it it's a good idea to put some moth ***** in socks or nylons under the hood and in the car to keep the mice out. Some don't like the smell but it airs out pretty quick. Others recommend those fresheners you put in the dryer with clothes.
You also might check under the plastic covers on the engine to see if there have already been some in there. I had the remains of a mouse nest in mine when i got it. Didn't do any damage to the wires and cleaned it out.
Good Luck with the car and have fun
PS - personally don't like the dash pad. If it's black will absorb the heat and creat hot air under it is my theory. Buy yourself a cockpit cover if it's a vert or the sun reflectors to put in the windshield.

Personally I would do the oil change and radiator flush myself. If you dont know how to do it, the second thing I recommend is finding someone on this forum in your area that knows how and see if they will do it for you. If that falls through then I would probably take it to the dealer and only if they are a reputable Corvette dealership. P.S. Dont forget to post pics when you get it.
PS- in my opinion-KEEP THE MOTH ***** out of your car!! It will stink forever.

I am considering one of the car capusles to store it over the winter months.
I will also consider changing more of the fluids to get them freshened. I would love to do it myself, but with a lack of time and the weather prepairing to turn I want to make sure it gets done, and I do want it done well.
I am in Indpls, IN if anyone has corvette knowledgable dealerships in the area.
