Default 3M protective masking

Has anyone here had experience with 3M protective masking applied to the front end of a car?
I am wondering if it is good or bad, does it deteriorate or yellow, does it stay clear and smooth over time, etc?
I appreciate any comments.
Thanks,

I have had the 3M for 4 years now, no yellowing, no problems, has saved the paint many times, I have had to replace a piece a couple of times due to rocks hitting the film and tearing, but what the heck I was glad to replace the film and not have the paint harmed. Main thing on the 3M, is a qualified installer. You might want to go to WWW.XPEL.com, they use 3M and have installers all over.

3M = 5 years, parts and labor. I am getting ready to spend $$ on a couple of cars.
