Default exhaust cut outs

Anyone have experience with either Quick Time Performance of DMH Performance cutouts. They essentially allow you to by pass the mufflers with the flick of a switch(either 10% to 100% or any interval in between) and run with a straight exhaust.

I've had mine just over a year and love them.

Patches has some clean shots of his installed cutouts on the forum somewhere also.

I just bought the QTP cutouts with the digital control unit about 2 hours ago. The total price was $504.00 and I've heard nothing but good reviews about them. I'll post up my results when I to the install this weekend.

I have the digital control also. The only thing I do not like about the digital control is it will close the cutouts at start up. I have been debating whether or not I want to change over to the standard flip switch instead of the digital control.

I kind of like the idea that it will close on start up. Another question I have about these things, though, is will they play hell on the computer by opening or closing the cut outs? have you had any issues?

With the standard flip switch, are the butterflys either closed or wide open? Can you adjust them to open up midway or any other percentage you want? also, will it open both butterflys the same amount?

The only issue I have is one of the motors closes slower than the other. It is not a big deal to me because I keep the butterflys open all the time except when the girlfriend is in the car or someone calls my cell phone.

I'm not sure if the flip switch allows you to partially open / close the butterflys. I'm sure someone will chime in with the answer for that.

Have you had any issues with the LEOs since you run them wide open all the time?

Nope, none at all! They would much rather pull me over for having a tinted rear tag cover or my 35% window tint.

I guess I'll have to test the waters here in the Ft. Hood area and see how the LEOs react. I've been stopped for not having a front tag multiple times but, I have Florida tags. One LEO even kept me waiting for 30 minutes just a few houses down from my place while he checked the florida tag regulations.

I had to cancell my ATP order because the butterflies are on a 5 week back order status. Summit racing bought them all. I called summit and ordered them with the cut out tube and they ship tomorrow for $340.00. That's electric butterflies and 2 cut outs. It's the product from quick time performance but $150 cheaper

Was that $340 for the pair? I don't see them on the summit site?

Edit - Nevermind if you search for "cut out" it doesn't bring everything up...

I had to call them for the part# & price. And yes, that price was for a pair of cutouts and both bolt on butterflies.

Why? What is the big gain in going for a set up like this? Track application only?

The big gain is more novelty and loud obnoxiousness for me. But yes, it would definitely help at the track.
