Default Ebay/SSAC headers... worth it?

I'm debating on whether or not to go with the SSAC headers from ebay, along with the x-pipe. I have read some of the huge threads, and neither has really steered me other way. Seems like the guys that got the old ones had problems, but the new ones have minimal problems. I always hear about the AC line melting, does this only happen in the A4 cars? Would I just be better off going with the new Texas Speed headers?(then I need to buy an x-pipe $$$) Opinions?

There are a couple threads on here with several hundred replies, all agreeing that they are worth it. I spend a total of $400 on a set for my Z06 and dynoed the same as those who spent $1500 on the other brands.

The 'A/C line issue' happens on ALL long tube installs, not matter the brand. The installer just needs to slightly bend the line out of the way towards the fender. Read the how-to articles on the expensive sets and you will see they did the same.

I've been looking at this set as well. Very cheap compaired to 1500 - 1700 dollars for other brands. Althouth I would love to have a top brand of headers, right now I can't afford it, so if I can get the same performance from a 400 dollar set of headers then that sounds great to me.

bending the AC line for the ebay headers did not help . they are just a poor fit .they look good . but the fit
my AC line melted , twice , and I had to completely re-route it .
but now that I have spend almost as much money as a quality header system would cost to get the bugs out , it looks and runs fine .
go with the real stuff . you get what you pay for . I did

"Ryan L" I also am interested in what it would cost to have these installed on my 02 coupe, sometime in the future. (I am also in Jax)

I actually want to do my entire exhaust system but there are more opinions than facts on this forum in regards to these systems so I am more confused than anything on what to buy and where to buy it. .....if money was over flowing I would simply go to the nearest speed shop and turn em loose- however after checking my wallet the flow is lets say just to slow to turn em loose and I just want my vette to sound better at idle more than anything... and I am hoping in the future for a baby cam and head package but I know there is some hp gain to be had from a freerer(newword) flowing exhaust so can a guy purchase a sweet sounding complete system "from exhaust manifold to tips" for a reasonable price?...installed? ...yeah I want an air intake also but you'll really loose me there

PM tstar. He hooked me up. If you want Hi-flow cats, be sure to ask him about them also. Recieved mine today. Look great, but we will see what the "installer" says after he does his work.
