Not on your list, but Callaway Honker. Great power and OEM like fit and finish.

The only problem with that damn Honker is that it has been on national (terminal) backorder for months now with no sign of release (I don't believe anyone in the country has one). This morning I got tired of waiting and took that $299 deal on the Stinger. I will do the cold air mod when I install it. Plus I like the way the red one goes with the red fuel rail covers.

Guess you did not see the post with the filter study showing how much more dirt gets into your engine with aftermarket low restriction filters vs the standard paper filters.

I have the Vara-Ram.........I like it, great concept.
My mech. says he's been through a few peoples engines due to filter pieces getting into the motor.
The Honker is said to be a pretty good product. As well as the Vortex.
But if I had to do it all over again I would probably do the Hurricane, it functions like the Vortex but instead of cutting out your shroud it replaces the shroud............looks like it would flow better air to me.

Dirt? LOL....If those companies making the low restriction filters were so bad, then they would be out of business by now (and we all know which company everyone says has lousy filters). My old truck went 150k+ miles with never an air filter even in it! Never broke down, didnt use any oil and got 22 mpg freeway till I sold it. Dirt? Didn't seem to hurt that engine at all.

If you are not concerned with dirt in the engine, then why not just take the filter completely off? That is as low restriction as you can get.

Hi gillarockus -

The best bang for your buck is the flip-tie mod.

Do the zip tie mod, then cut your shroud and flip the stock airbox, sans lod (you did the zip tie mod....) and then you are getting "ram air" and the coldest air you are going to see.

If you just have to spend money - any of the three choices will be satisfactory.

best regards -
