The car was destroyed by the storm and is almost finished being put back together, I'd like to get ahold of the previous owner to see if they have any pictures of the damaged car or any of the original documentation.
BTW here is the most current picture, I'm in the process of painting it.

I could point out what I have replaced on the car but it would be much easier to point out the 3 or 4 things that I didn't have to replace.
For example, the passenger side door was undamaged, the drivers side door needed a slight bit of work and every other body panel is new. all of the wiring is new, all of the modules are new and 99% of the suspension is new, I rebuilt the engine, replaced the torque tube and transmission. etc. etc. etc.

Glad to see project is progressing nicely - what color are you going w/, the yellow (per hood), the white (per rocker panels) or the blue
I can understand your desire to contact the former owner - good luck, and keep us posted on your findings.
Any chance you can go back thru who you purchased it from to find the original owner? Sometimes the salvage place won't directly give out that info to you, but if you tell them why you want the info, they might notify the prior owner and then hopefully the prior owner will contact you. I know if this was formerly my car, and I found out you rebuilt it, I would be most anxious to talk w/ you.
Bill.
What did you have to do to get it running and driving? I imagine you're an expert on the vehicles electronics by now. Did you have to tear down the drivetrain?
It sounds like it would of been good for spare parts, i'm surprised it's getting repaired with prices on C5s as low as they are.

I can't find the original owner by back tracking, after the hurricane it was sold as a large lot of vehicles to a company called Ride Safely, from there it was purchased by a guy in San Antonio who had plans on rebuilding it but let it sit for a few months before deciding it was more project than he was willing to take on> Of course trying to get any info out of Ride Safely is impossible, that is unless I'm calling to buy something from them
TraceZ: I was hoping to be able to reuse alot of parts but that didn't happen, as a matter of fact the first lot of parts I purchased after getting the car was a little less than $5k and at that point if I would have resold what was good on the car and the parts I bought I might have gotten half my money back, it basically turned into a money pit, but this is my fifth car that I've rebuilt and I'll do it again with something else.
ZOSick6: I paid $7600 for the car and I got a car that was virtually brand new except for the slight damage
, the current odometer shows 38 miles. Now with that said, that doesn't mean I'm trying to hide anything the car will always be branded a flood car by agencies like Carfax and I've completely documented the rebuild with pictures and receipts, plus if I ever decide to sell (I'm to upside down financially to sell anytime soon) all of the pictures and paperwork will go with the car.
