My gauge is slow to respond when the car is started...at first it sits then slowly works its way up. Is this normal or do I have an issue? Once at speed, say 75ish mph the digital gauge is showing pressure around 40-41psi

Ugh..... Sending units going bad is very very common but changing them out is not a fun task if you have not done it before...
Requires removing the intake and some hoses to get to it. Others on here have even resorted to cutting holes in the front cowl area and then resealing them so they did not have to remove the intake.
Plus, when they go bad they normaly read very high pressure 80 plus on the gauge and 120+ on the dic.
The previous owner used mobil synthetic 5w30 I am sure. Its due for an oil change in about 500 miles...I just drove it home yesterday
If I need a new sender, its going to be done right, and there will be no unecassary cutting of anything. That just does not make sense to me.
Its not like it takes a min or anything, its right after start it will hesitate for a spit second, then slowly work its way up the gauge to where it settles out to a pressure. I have to take my boat in to be winterized, when I get back I will double check the idle pressure.
if it is only a few seconds then that is very normal.
I just went out and looked at mine and it was about 2-3 seconds before it went to full pressure at idle. mine is at 40 psi at idle ( cold )
I thought you meant it was taking a long time as in mins.
I would just get the oil and filter change done and you should be fine.
Ok, no this is a matter of seconds. My truck jumps right up so I was not sure if this was normal on the corvettes or not. Sounds like it is, does yours do a slow gradual climb to pressure and not an abrupt jump? Just going to take some getting use to after watching my truck gauges for the last 75k+ miles.
I was out of town today so I just got home and have not been able to check the pressure at idle, but will do so tomorrow, cold and compare to your 40psi using the digital gauge.
