On a coupe, How many pieces of carpet are there? Ive been trying to buy some and I called a place called vette2vette and they told me that there were like 5 or 6 pieces. I thought it was just 3. Any one ever ripped it all out?

It is 8 or 9 depending on which model and who makes it. Also, neither of the sets on the list is for the vertical portion under the trunk or hatch lid (covering the tail lights), that's a seperate set (I'm not sure why).
Well crap.... I need the whole thing and no one seems to have a clear cut answer. Every place I call gives me a differnt story. I just need everything to swap out my Oak interior.

in the front- 2 pieces (one for driver side and one for passenger side)
behind the seats is another 1 piece.
in the cargo area- it is 1 piece.
So 4 big pieces of carpet.
Then you have the rear panels left, the 3 for the storage areas and the 3 that run against the bumper/fenders .
We are doing that with the wife's gray interior...(what a pia...). Don't forget, you will have to do something with the plastic inside door sills, kick panels and seatbelt covers. Are your seatbelts oak or black? If they are oak, that's another biggie...I think they run about $300-400 a set. If your lower dash and door panels have tan (oak) trim, you will have to get those painted or recovered, and get some black speaker covers (or paint them). Seat covers are easy, but I do recommend changing the seat foam while they are apart. The C5's foam tends to break down after about 4-5 years, expecially the river seat lower. I think you can buy just the individual pieces of foam from Ecklers, as you might not need some of the other parts.

Well my interior was already black. I just got ahold of some near new carpets so all I had to do was swap them. And it literally took me about 20 minutes to do. It was so easy.
For a color change, then yes there is much more to do. I would hate to have to find all those pieces. But if someone has torch red pieces and they want to swap for some black, let me know.
