[Z06] question 4th to 5th

Default question 4th to 5th
In shifting fourth to fith it seems as if the engine rpm does not drop as much as other shifts. Is it because the ratios are close in fourth and fith? Car is stock.

Yep - very close ratios - designed to get good top end speed for the long straights on Road courses

I noticed that 5th really doesn't get you any fuel economy either almost no matter what speed you are doing. Engines don't like to be bogged.
