We use hockey pucks ... available at your local sporting goods store

Default jacking pucks

I use BMW lift pads part # 51711960752 you just snap them in and forget about them you cant see them from the side and you never have to worry about some clown trying to lift the car and screwing up the rocker panels I have had mine in since the car was new 03 it has 98,000 on it now and they are still hanging around

A forum vendor was selling them around here last week for $15. I made my own from used hockey pucks ($3 for 4) and 4 eyebolts, nuts and washers.

Do the common units I have seen go into place and stay there or do you have to put them in everytime? I was curious since the dealer probably won't take the time.
