Default Ruff Wheels Opinions

I'm looking for critiques on Ruff Racing Wheels. I just saw a group buy and they are very affordable, so wanted to get some opinions. Thanks!

My Personal opinion and what I have heard from customers:

Pros: Wheels are very durable (heavy) this is why they do not easly bend. Never heard of color fading etc.. on the new models every since Status wheels changed manufacture. Popular designes that look overall great on most cars.

Cons: Rivets can or might come off after 6 months or more of use.. (no worries, call us and we will send you more. Very easy to install). They do not fit perfectly on the C6 vetts. The wheel is not made to clear Z51package. Some designs will not fit correctly on the vette like the 278s 280 and 281 models do. On the 279s the wheel design is made differently causing some applications to be forced to use a 5mm spacer for the spokes to clear the brakes.

Overall:
If you are interested in purchasing a set off Ruff Racing wheels, consider the RR278 18x8.5 +35 et and 19x9.5 +45et or the 280s and 281s in those sizes. This setup will bolt on perfectly with no spacers on your C5 vette. We do not recommend to use on C6 for the wheel is not made specifically to clear the brakes and stay in the fenders at the same time. My personal favorite setup would be the 19x8.5 +35et and 20x10 +45et which the 280s and 281s would be your only option then.

We are currently working with Status wheels (Goodroads) to be able to offer you the 2008 Ruff Racing Designs with a option for the Z51 package. We are working very hard for this for we see plenty of potential in this. Wait until you guys see the new models. They will be out Feb or sooner.. We will be the first ones to have them and we will most likely pre-sell them as well.

Hope this helps.

If they offered 18x10.5 or 18x11 I would buy a set in a heart beat.

I'd love to see a photo of the black wheel on a white vette if anyone has one.

Nothing but compliments. I really need to give them a good cleaning, hoping they clean up like new.

I cannot post the pictures yet. Possibly after SEMA is over. We are working on developing wider wheels exclusively for the vette. We will definatly let you guys know if this happens.

Thanks,

Default RUFF RACING 281's w/NITTO INVO /20"19" SETUP

Anyone in the Tucson area looking, I have a brand new set of Ruff Racing Black 281's w/brand new Nitto Invos, and brand new TPMS sensors, all balanced ready to go. Awesome looking set! Bought for my C6. It was a no no. Doesn't work well w/ the slammed look, little bit of rub. I took them off immediately. I heard they are perfect for a C5. Too nice a tire to screw up. I'll be willing to drive a little bit if anyone seriously interested. Let me know 520-940-6859.
