My father's 2000 Corvette is undergoing a 'rebirthing' process right now so I thought I'd let you forum members in on it. This yellow vette is the reason I now have my Vette, and why my sister is looking for a C5 for her. After owning the car 3 years Dad decided he wanted it to be unique. He started looking at places and settled on MTI in Houston to do the power plant work and a paint shop right next to it to give the car new life in a new color. Unfortunately the paint is going extreamly slow compared to the time table orgininally given (tis okay, quality over getting to drive it again this winter...) Here are a few pics of the car on the dyno with the new LS7 turning 502 rwhp and 507 ftlbs of tourqe. I'm still waiting to get my hands on curves...
The car got new Eriadispeed brakes to pull it down to a stop as well. I'll get here and update this thread with exact part build a bit later.. the whole gallery pictures (as I get them) is located here: Gallery Link
I should have teardown pictures soon and painted pictures quickly after that!!
Looks like the wheels have been chosen as well: Fikse Mags.
Should look sweet with the super-dark kandy apple green paint!!!
For referance the stock motor before they pulled it out spun a 302RWHP on the Dyno. It's going into a 280z (pics of that as soon as I get them as well.. it's my uncle's.)

I'm hot linking here, but here is a "Strait Down" shot of the color, it's impossible todescribe how beautiful this is going to be... I'll try to get some shots of the sprayout they gave Dad.

Paint is approximately 1/2 complete and new pictures should be available later today. To all you dads out there, nothing is greater than being able to share your Corvette with your kids and see the enjoyment that they get out of it!!!!!!
Awesome job so far. Can't wait to see the paint.
Tri colored paint is awesome, looks just like candy to me. Of course I never dealt with it except on nissans and caddillacs
I have not seen it on a vet either which is why we went in that direction. Wanted something different but also something that did not take away from the corvettes styling. Hopefully it will look great but you just never know. Safe is easy.
