Guilty as charged. Has anyone used TixNix or another service to hire an attorney for a ticket in Wisconsin? I am an Illinios resident and was clocked at 26 over the limit.
I know...slow down. I don't object to paying the fine (almost $300), but am trying to minimize the effect on my otherwise good driving record.

Reason: spelling
Can you take driver's training?? I got a big one in Idaho and I took an online driver's training course, I think it cost $100 and took like 4 hours but it saved them from reporting to CalEfornia.... good luck!

My experience has shown that out of state tickets paid before the court date have not appeared on my driving record.
Not sure how it works for out-of-state drivers..but you're definitely better off being so.
If you were a WI resident, 25+ over = mandatory court appearance (no option to just pay the fine) and if convicted, 15 day license suspension.
That is true for a Wis resident. I used to go and fight my tickets in Wisconsin when I was a young lad (when it was 18). The ones that I lost and "won" (points reduction) would appear on my Illinois driving record. Unfortunately it only works if its an out of state ticket. For example, my wife got nailed for 23 over in Kansas during One Lap last year. We paid it before her "hearing date" and it has yet to show up on her record.
Why and where were you doing 26 mph over the limit? Also your license will be suspended in WI for 15 days since you were over the posted limit by 25 mph or more. So make sure you ask the clerk when your license will be suspended so you don't get busted if you are in WI at that time!
The only hope you have is if the judge or D.A. will reduce the speed on the ticket.
Their are no online tests you can take. You can take a class through the technical colleges that will give you 2 points back but if you don't have a WI license that won't help you much, it may help reduce your insurance though.
It depends on your stated DOT records if they put WI violations on your record or not!
