Default BAD TRANSACTION WITH Tx Ray-C5

First off let me state that I am fairly new to the forum and I have owned my 2002 EB Z06 since Aug of this year. A C5 Z06 EB was my dream car and even to this day i still cant believe it's sitting in my garage. Well here it is, on 10-22-07 I completed a purchase of a magnaflow X-Pipe, paying through paypal for my Z through a member on the forum by the name of Tx Ray-C5. He stated that he would ship it the week of the purchase on either 10-25-07 or if not the next day on 10-26-07. The pm he sent me stating of when he would ship it was on 10-24-07, that was the last e-mail i got from him. I have sent him about 4-5 pm's and also about 4 e-mails and he still has not replyed to any of them. My main question is what do I do, how do i get my money back, can i get my money back, did this guy rip me off for my $175.00? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Also, let me add that I told him I would start a thread about the bad transaction and he still did not reply.

File a dispute with paypal or your credit card (if that's how you paid). Hope it works out for you.

Small bump. Hope it works out for ya, man.

Did you check if he had a few posts and was a member here for a while? It probably wouldn't be a good idea to buy from someones who's new and has low posts.

Good luck

The guy has been a member (Senior Mamber) since early 2006 with nearly 1000 posts. His profile says he last logged on today around 9:30AM. I have to believe this will get worked out eventually. Keep trying to contact him. File a Paypal dispute. That usually gets people to respond. You also may want to post back in that sale thread asking for a status and inform everyone of the situation. Good luck!

Sounds like you checked his status on the forum before buying. I probably would have done he same thing, so it makes me much less likely to buy expensive items on this forum because of people like that. I'd really like to hear an explanation from him about this. This is the kind of stuff that ruins the buying/selling part of this forum.

Only if he has money in his account. Paypal cannot withdraw when nothing is available.

Paypal sucks; always has, always will. They have gotten better but still suck.

Absolutely incorrect.

They can AND WILL pull you into a negative bracket, then they will hound you every day until you transfer the $$ into your account(from the bank).

I got scammed about 3 months ago for an online game account that I sold. Long story short is that I lost my PayPal dispute and they pulled $300 from a $0 balance account, making me negative until I transferred the funds.

Why didn't you just open a new account, under a different email? Paypal has gotten better, but like everything else, nothing is guaranteed.
