Default Rim Size Question

Is there a big difference in ride by having a smaller wheel in the front? I'm looking to get 19's in the rear but am not sure how the ride would be affected if I got 19's vs. 18's in the front. Any advice?

I'm running 20x10.5 rims with 285/30ZR20 tires on the rears and 19x9.5 rims with 245/35ZR19 tires on the fronts. Since going to the non-run flat tires, I did notice better overall traction. There was no degradation to the ride performance with these new rim sizes. But, I also changed to coil-overs and Pfadt sway bars at about the same time.

The only problem I have is spinning the rears, ever since I bumped my rwhp over 600

Not sure how to answer this one becasue I am not 100% sure what you are asking.

I will however tell you this. When your C5 came off the assembly line it had wheels that were 1" different in size from front to rear. (17" fronts, 18" rears)

As for you going with 19 rears and 18 fronts, that's what C6's have from the factory... Also, when it all comes down to it, the tires you put on those wheels are what will REALLY tell the story.

For instance, I have 18" wheels at all four positions on the car but have kept the 1" difference in diameter from front to rear becasue of the tire sizes.
265/35x18 front, 295/35x18 rear.

So, go ahead and do your 19 rear and 18 fronts, just match them up to tires carefully and you'll be just fine.

C6's I believe are 245/40x18 and 285/35x19

I also think that the tires you choose to put on those wheels will have more to do with the ride than the wheels I run 18x10 fronts and 19x11 rears using Bridgestone tires

You can run 19" front and rear, just keep the ratio of front to rear tire circumference close to the factory ratio.

IF the rears are 1" taller than the fronts STOCK-- when you choose aftermarket tire sizes--you must keep that same differance with your new tires--What happens is that the ABS -- active handling--
and the traction control systems receive mis-information and will NOT operate properly--You will often get annoying codes as well if the difference is way off--Worst case problem is that the ABS system (anti-lock brakes) will not function and the brakes will only work in normal mode--and you won't know it-could cause an accident on a slippery road or around a curve when braking
