They will be going on a 2000 FRC and the only mods so far are Vararam and Ti's. My next step is headers and tune. I can't make up my mind which brand to go with so Im asking you guys to help me choose.
1. Texas Speed Long Tubes $770
2. LG Street Long Tubes $995
3. LG Pro OR American Racing headers $1500
I know the Pro's and ARH are going to make more power but is it worth spending extra cash?
How do Texas Speed long tubes compare to LG Street?
How much less power are TSP/LG Street making compared to LG Pro's or ARH?
And last but not least, who would you guys recommend for a tune around Richmond,VA area?

If money is not an issue go with LG or ARH, both proven performers
I went with FLP Longtubes - used, I paid $875.00 shipped to me. There not bad, on the dyno car made 325 hp at the wheels - this was with just the headers, tune and vararam, I guess that's ok numbers. I have an A-4
But if I had the $1500.00 to spend, I would go with LG's first.
no opinion on headers yet but for tuning there is a place called Zip in Richmond. I don't know what type of a shop they are and if they do tuning or not, but I'm sure you can find out. if not try Ed in Chesapeake. I'm pretty sure they are both forum supporters...so check them out here.
As a suggestion I would add the SLPs to your possibles list. I chose them for several reasons.
First and foremost they would work with the stock catalytic converters and the down pipe for the stock converts is on clearance right now for $12.95. No kidding. That is essentially free to me. So I can put the headers on for $1000. Everybody else's long tube you have to use their converts which runs the price up to $1500 and up. I live where the do visual emissions equipment check and I don't want any hassles with it.
Second these headers are the best made headers I have ever seen. They are .055 thick and are jet hot coated and polished. I think they will outlast my car.
Third they are the only stainless tuned headers I could find. Most long tubes are just long tubes and not tuned.
Forth because the collector of these are not under the car they do not reduce the ground clearance which is already minimal on a Vette.
I hope to get them on in the next few weeks and I can let you know how it goes.

You said, so far. I would say if you aren't adding much more than the streets should do just fine. If you are planning much more (say to 425 rwhp +/-) then it might be worth going with the longtubes. I really like my LG pro's.
The SLP doesn't look like a true long tube setup though, it looks more like a equal length primary, shorty header.
Well the point of headers are to get the exhaust gases out the most efficiently as possible. To me it really doesn't matter if a header is longer or shorter but how well it performs. Most of the long tubes I have seen show 20-30 horsepower gains. Shortys say 10-15. The SLPs say "up to 35" depending on bla ba bla. From what I can find the SLPs performs as well if not better than the "long tubes". I look at the long tubes and all they are is longer equal length tubes just like the shorty headers are equal length tubes. I just don't see how making the tubes longer will gain anything. On the other hand the SLPs have been tuned. Tuning makes it so the exhaust gas pulse don't collide at the collector causing a pressure build up and a slow down of the exhaust gases. I don't see any tuning in any headers except the SLPs.

I have the LG streets, love them. The LG guys said if that is the extent of your mods the streets will make a little more low end tourqe than the pro's. The LG fit, sound, and look are phenomenal. If you are thinking "a year from now maybe a H/C package, but I would really like a S/C" go for the pro's and you will never look back.
I don't know about the other guys, but Lou's customer service and experice are unmatched, expecially for military, and he is always on the forum if you need help......
Regardless... You will love them, throw on a cat back to go with 'em. Borla stinger twin tip for me....
From: the GOCC are everywhere, even back from "band camp"
I have a 2000 convertible, Blackwing intake, smooth coupler, Z06 exhaust and a set of beautifully engineered and manufactured American Racing Long Tube headers, with a Scott Brown tune. The noise is level very tolerable, even in a convertible, in fact most here would still think too quiet, just over 350 RWHP. I'm hoping Am Racing comes out with headers for the wife's TrailBlazer SS, great headers and real performers.
