Default Brakes- Advise Needed

Can the rotors be resurfaced or do they need to be replaced?
Where are the best deals?
I will most likely continue with the OEM parts.
Thanks.

Napa sells the rotors as well..... I believe you can buy a whole set for around 125-150 (all 4). Most of the road race guys here will tell you that this is the way to go. When you resurface or cut rotors you are taking material away therefore the brakes tend to heat up faster and wear quicker all while giving you less performance.

I agree, go to NAPA. They are cheaper.

Default Napa

Napa sells them for about $35.00 per rotor, and they are very good rotors ... half the price of even the "best" deal on GM rotors, and every bit as good. Most Napa stores have them on the shelf, and if not, will have them by store opening time the next morning.

You can order them from Rockauto, a sponsor here. Do a search and you can find the discount code. I got 2 fronts for $54 incl shipping.

I love my Napa rotors. Cant beat them for the money. I painted the hat portion of the rotor to avoid any ugly surface rust that may develop.

like some info please. I asked my NAPA guy about them a few weeks ago & he was telling me they are drilled & slotted for about $45 each. I have read that drilled & slotted rotors are known for cracking, what do yall have to say, does anyone happen to have a part #? how about the pads? GM?

thanx, Steve T.

You should be able to get the plain Napa rotors for under $30 each. I will see if I can find the part numbers for you

They (NAPA) show Premium, Ultra Premium and Hi-Perf. The Hi-Perf are drilled and slotted...

Yeah the party is over on that deal. They are no longer made in Canada. Made in China and now cost about $40 each. The hats are actually painted so it saves you that step. Jury is out on how well they last for street or track. You may notice on the NAPA site that the part number has a 5 in front of it or some such. But the last 5 digits remain the same. These are the blanks we like so much for track use.

NAPA / Raybetos rotor

86700 - right front
86701 - left front
86702 - left rear
86703 - right rear

Another option is get the blanks from Rock Auto. Same rotors better price.

Someone in the race section is testing the ones Tire Rack sells at a pretty decent price. Don't know how well they are holding up yet.

For street use any of them will be fine. Get the holes/slots if you like bling. Just don't show up at the track with them.
