white convertible top

Hi
I am shopping for a C5 roadster and went to look at a 2001 white on red with white top. To my suprise the white top was vinyl not cloth. Is this normal for white tops? thanks. RL

It was just an aftermarket top. Not the original.

All white tops are vinyl......black, tan, and grey are usually sailcloth. 2004 was the last year for the vinyl white top. Most likely the top on the 2001 you looked at was original.

Wrong - OEM white tops are all vinyl (on C5's).

use caution when purchasing a 2001, many of them were known to have excess oil consumption issues.

I have a 99 pewter vert with a white top. the white tops are vinyl and the rest are sailcloth.

My original white top was vinyl. I replaced it this year with a white vinyl from Robbins,a perfect match.
