have you noticed how many different shades of torch red there are? My car looks different in almost any shade of light. Sometimes I take a pictures and it looks real orange, others look like a real dark red. Seems that I see the same issue with torch red cars pictures posted here. What's up with that??
I've noticed that also. any time I take a nighttime picture with flash the car looks firey orange. maybe thats how the color got its name. in the sunlight it looks bright red though.
WAAAY back in the day it was not uncommon for some Manufacturers like GM to have over ten different variences of the same color on the same model year. The only way to figure it out was to mix up each varience, one at a time and spray a test panel and check it. Not sure if things are more sophisticated today or not
Thanks for the PM. I only plan on doing the morning cruise myself and probably the lunch. I need to be back home by 2pm (baby sitter). Ken, no pressure from me. That said, it would be fun to cruise together . Your call dude!
PS - I'm going to do the Trackmasters event at Infineon next Monday, you gonna try and make it?

I agree, I have 98 TR coupe, has not been repainted & 2 friends have 2004 TR converts. When we park together at cruise nites, their cars are definitely a different color in the same light.

It's not the paint...it's the camera. Try different settings (called bracketing in the photo biz) or programs. You may need to adjust the white balance if your camera is equipped. Different apperture/shutter settings will cause color shifts. Just keep trying .
