sorry i think the C6 wheels are so over done and very un-original and cheap ( i don't mean to offend anyone sorry) here in Calgary they are almost as common as factory thin spokes, my opinion - go for something unique - for me it was CCW because nobody else here has them and in Canada i think they are still fairly unique

It's funny that you mentioned that. My car is serviced at a Corvette specialty shop where they only work on Corvettes. I am interested in the Chrome C6 ZO6 wheels myself. The guy there will only use one vendor for the wheels and it is because of the finish and the difficulty in balancing that he used to see from the others. My current Chrome thinspokes are from his only vendor, they are 3 years old and still in perfect shape. I know mine will cost a little more than the ones sold on *bay, but I know I will get a quality product. He will handle the warranty locally. He will also take my current wheels in trade, the difference will be around $200+mounting/balancing. That is great because then I will not have to sell mine.

As for the other wheels posted on this thread, they really are nice wheels, I would love to have them on my car. I would put them on, but do not want to spend the $$'s. Some are in excess of $5K. The wheels I am buying are more ordinary, but good enough for me. (at least for now)

All comes down to how much jingle ya got! I love the CCW's...they look great and are a great value for the money. If you want to go economy..then pick up some y2k's or some motorsports. Love HREs, Fikses and Iforged as well...but they are gonna cost ya!!

Here's my boat anchors...haahahaha!! Yeah they are cheaper and definately not the quality of HRE's or CCW's, but they are the style that I prefered. It is your car and spend what you want on what you want. Cost for me wasn't a big consideration, I don't race it and it is driven a couple times a month so the extra weight isn't a concern. I was lucky as the weights needed to balance were no more than my buddies HRE's. Good luck!

Those look great. Do you know who was the manufacturer and vendor?

If I had the money CCWs would be my first choice, but due to health problems and an early retirement I had to settle for "common, boat anchors"

Guys:

I have done a LOT of looking around at various wheels. I look at the weight and the price, and the looks.

I personally LOVE the looks of the CCW SP500's (For all the reasons above!). Especially on the lowered Z06's. I have done a lot of comparing to my stock Z06 wheel setup.

Stock 2002-2004 Z06 wheel/tire weights :
Front Wheel (19.2lbs) + Front Tire (29lbs) = 48.2 lbs
Rear Wheel (21lbs) + Rear Tire (33lbs) = 54 lbs

CCW SP500's (info direct from CCW) with Bridgestone Potenza RE050A (info from Bridgestone site)
Front Wheel (18x9.5)(20 lbs) + Tire (275/35-18)(29 lbs) = 49 lbs
Front Wheel (19x9.5)(21.5 lbs) + Tire (275/30-19)(29 lbs) = 50.5 lbs
Rear Wheel (19x11)(23.5lbs) + Tire (305/30-19)(32lbs) = 55.5 lbs

As you can see.... I was pleasantly suprised to see that going with the 18/19, or the 19/19 SP500 combo I will still be within a couple pounds of my stock Z06 setup. From my research I can't find any other combo this light weight. I have looked into IForged, HRE, and Fikse and all the wheels I was interested in (there 5 spoke designs) were at least 25lbs each. CCW's are much less $$ than other higher priced forged wheels too.....

PS.... CCW says add 1.5 lbs to the above wheel weights for the CCW 505A's.

PSS... If you don't think wheel weight makes a difference ? Go try a set of cheap China made wheels, and see how dramatic a reduction in performance you feel in your car.... Then feel all warm and fuzzy inside that you paid money to reduce performance in your Corvette

PSSS.. I don't work for CCW.... I'm just a very informed shopper
