Default In expensive airbox mod

A while back I bought a stock airbox from a forum member for $20.
I decided to cut the lid between the clamps to allow in more air. Kinda like the zip-tie-mod with the ease of having the stock lid/clamps. I cut it using a B&D jigsaw, then filed the edges smooth. I stopped at the hardware store and bought some closed cell foam weatherstrip 3/8" X 3/4" and affixed it to the edge of the bumper pad beneath the edge of the hood. It closed the gap Perfectly, cost $3. I will post pictures when I can, my camera is broken. But initially my mileage is up one mpg, and the car seems to rev more happily!

Default Air box Mod

My version, used stock straps. Cut opening as big as that would allow.

No codes and seems to work fine.

I have a rare 110v air intake system, based on the oem Z06/Z16 intake. It's the only one known to exist...

.
I am not to sure about the foam idea. In time the foam will deteriorate
& the engine will start to suck in foam.
